For the first time ever, AAA is offering its Tow to Go program specifically for Daytona Beach Bike Week to prevent impaired riding and driving.

With nearly half a million motorcyclists and visitors expected in the Central Florida region, AAA is activating this service to prevent crashes and save lives by keeping impaired riders and drivers off the road.

“When you pack this many motorcycles, cars, trucks, and pedestrians into one area, even a small amount of alcohol can turn a dangerous situation into a deadly one,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Whether you’re driving on four wheels or two, if you find yourself without a sober way home during Daytona Bike Week, call AAA and we’ll get both you and your ride somewhere safe.”

Alcohol slows reaction time, weakens balance, and makes it harder for riders to stay in control of their motorcycle. And when a rider loses control, it puts every driver, rider, and pedestrian around them in harm’s way.

During events like Bike Week, some riders may feel pressure to ride impaired simply because they do not want to leave their motorcycle behind. Tow to Go eliminates any excuse for riding impaired.

If you are unsafe to ride, call ‘Tow to Go’ and AAA will take you and your bike to a safe location.

AAA is partnering with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), and the Daytona Beach Police Department to reinforce safe riding and driving behaviors throughout Bike Week. Each partner brings a vital role to the effort: MSF provides education and training for riders, FHP enhances enforcement and statewide safety messaging, and local law enforcement ensures on-the-ground safety during the event. Together, these organizations are working to reduce preventable tragedies during one of the largest motorcycle gatherings in the country.

“We’re proud to support AAA’s Tow to Go program through our National Motorcycle Safety Fund during Daytona Bike Week to help prevent impaired motorcycle riding,” said Christy LaCurelle, President and CEO of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. “Thank you to AAA for providing this free, last-resort service that supports safer celebrations.”

“Your Florida Highway Patrol is proud to team with AAA and our law enforcement partners to remind all road users about the dangers of impaired driving or riding during Daytona Bike Week,” said FHP Colonel Gary Howze. “Our message is simple: driving safely is a choice. Those who choose to endanger others on our roadways by driving or riding impaired will find zero tolerance by law enforcement. AAA’s Tow to Go is available as a last resort. The safest option is to arrange a sober ride in advance. Let’s work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable Bike Week for all.”

While Tow to Go is activated specifically to help prevent impaired riding and driving, AAA will continue to provide its everyday roadside assistance throughout Bike Week for members experiencing mechanical issues with their vehicles or motorcycles. Many riders may not realize that AAA offers motorcycle roadside assistance, supported by specialized service vehicles designed to safely transport motorcycles.
