The year 2025 was marked by severe, high-profile traffic crashes that took the lives of children and adults as well as students and teachers. However, preliminary state data show the overall number of both fatalities and crashes was set to drop.
Local department data also show a marked slide in traffic incidents, while traffic stops by Citrus County sheriff’s deputies have increased dramatically over the past year.
