PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed into law a measure amending the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act, popularly known as the “Doble Plaka” (double plates) Law, to streamline motorcycle safety measures and penalties.

Republic Act (RA) 12209, otherwise known as “An Act Rationalizing the Safety Measures and Penalties Relative to the Operation of Motorcycles,” was signed by the president on May 9, 2025.
