MOORHEAD — More motorcyclists are out on the road as temperatures continue to warm.
A recently shared social media video by Cameron Whittaker, posted in the ‘Fargo Can’t Drive’ Facebook group, shows him maneuver through traffic, or lane filtering, at the intersection near 7 Brew Coffee on Eighth Street South in Moorhead.

Lane filtering is legal in Minnesota.
The law went into effect July 1, in an effort to reduce rear-end collisions.
“It has to be on a two-lane road where traffic is going in the same direction. And it has to be between those two rows of cars or trucks. It should not be on either side for the shoulder,” said Jay Bock, motorcycle safety administrator with the Minnesota Traffic Safety Office.
In order to lane filter in Minnesota, traffic must be stopped and you must drive 15 miles per hour or less.
Lane filtering and splitting are not legal in North Dakota.
