SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -Time is running out to sign up for the Springfield Police Department’s final motorcycle safety course of the year.
This free one-day class teaches experienced riders important skills to reduce the number of crashes.
To sign up, you’ll need motorcycle insurance, a helmet, eye protection, and more. The Share the Road course takes place on Oct. 11. It will cover advanced techniques, including object avoidance and motorcycle handling.
“It’s not a beginner’s class, but it’s offered to riders to just hone their riding skills, to have them be a little bit safer on the road in an effort to reduce the number of motorcycle crashes we have out here,” said Lt. Steve Schwind with Springfield PD.
If you’re interested, you have until noon on Thursday to submit an interest application. If you meet the minimum requirements, SPD will contact you with further course information. To learn more, click here.
