The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety granted the Surprise Police Department $35,000 to help offset costs to enforce DUI laws throughout the city.
The City Council approved accepting funding to cover overtime and expenses for materials and supplies associated with participation in the enforcement.
The Police Department offers public awareness to enhance DUI enforcement activities and provide officer impaired-driver training in the city.
The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety’s programs address critical areas such as speed and reckless driving, impaired driving, occupant protection, motorcycle safety and pedestrian/bicycle safety.
