LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A moped driver is in critical condition after a crash in Lansing Friday.
Police said the crash happened at the intersection of MLK and Mary. LPD told News 10 a Chevy Equinox had been driving eastbound and attempting a left-hand turn onto MLK while the moped was traveling westbound on Cavanaugh, attempting to cross over MLK.
The Equinox had no passengers other than the driver. That driver was unharmed. The moped driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The crash is still under investigation. Details on the moped driver’s condition are unknown.
This crash comes just days after LPD announced it would be stepping up patrols and warning drivers of potential safety hazards to motorcyclists.
