Officers with the Escondido Police Department cited 78 drivers and motorcycle riders for a variety of violations during the operation Friday, January 23. From 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., motorists were cited for violations including excessive speed, violation of signs and signals, cell phone use, driving without a license and window tint. 

The EPD will hold another motorcycle safety enforcement operation on Monday, March 30. Funding was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
