
REEDSVILLE — The Brown Township Board of Supervisors adopted two new proclamations in accordance with the Mifflin County Commissioners, Monday evening.
On May 1, the Commissioners proclaimed May 2025 as motorcycle safety and awareness month, Brown Township adopted the proclamation stating that motorcycle riding is a “popular form of recreation” and all motorists are “encouraged to always be aware of motorcycles at intersections, when performing lane changes, or when passing other vehicles.”
The board also adopted into effect the 2025 EMS Week Proclamation, because “emergency medical services (are) a vital public service” it is important to “recognize the value and the accomplishments of (EMS) providers.
This celebratory week in 2025 will be May 18 through May 24.
In other business, the board approved a resolution for the signatures for Dairyland Hills family limited partnership escrow account and they approved the Armagh Township end of year adjustment report.
The board voted to table discussion regarding the 2025 playground supervisors and the request to plant a tree or install a bench in the memory of Joe Shiminsky until a later date when all board members are present.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 19, for the next regularly scheduled meeting.
