JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and police are urging drivers to be more cautious on the road.
This comes after two crashes involving motorcycles were reported in Jonesboro on Wednesday, May 21.
Sergeant Michael Bush drives a motorcycle for the Jonesboro Police Department. He said they always have to stay extra aware on the road.
“If we pull up to a stoplight, we are looking behind us to make sure no vehicles are going to hit us from the rear end. We make sure we stop, creating distance so we do have a way to out of that if possible, and that’s part of our training that we do.
Bush added that those out on the roads should always be looking for smaller things, because it may not just be a motorcycle, it could be a person walking.
