The hours have changed for Redstone’s first Installation Safety Day, June 3, to maximize participation.

The event starts at 9 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m. instead of noon as originally planned. Food trucks have also been added, so lunchtime is envisioned as the peak time.

Redstone Activity Field, 3732 Aerobee Road, is the location with additional booths indoors at the Community Activity Center, building 3711. June is National Safety Month.

“This is all about state of mind, preventing hazards,” Charlie Carter, the Garrison’s safety and occupational health director, said during the second Teams meeting April 8. “It’s all about combining resources.”

The Garrison Safety Office, coordinating the postwide event, has provided a booth registration link on Google Forms.

“We’re currently at 10 registered booths,” Aviance Britt, the safety office’s coordinator for the event along with co-worker Kendall Lewis, said. “Our goal is to have 20.”

The vendors include the Garrison Safety Office, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Redstone Fire Department, North Alabama Search Dogs, Army Substance Abuse Program, Fox Army Health Center, Religious Support Office, Redstone Airfield, Huntsville Urban Bike Share, the Directorate of Public Works, and motorcycle safety.

“I appreciate everyone’s support,” Britt said. “And I look forward to this being a great event.”
